Great news today for Peter Firth fans. It has been announced by Kudos that Peter’s latest drama, ‘Mayday‘, will be airing on UK television in the Autumn schedule this year! With ‘World Without End‘ also due to air at that time, it’s going to be a very busy Autumn for us fans.
The article in ‘This is Surrey Today‘ also gives specific details of filming locations, for those of you maybe planning to try and catch a glimpse of filming:
“Speaking after the first day of filming on Monday, producer Chris Fry told the Advertiser: “We have had a very good day filming in people’s houses. It is early days, it takes a lot of planning and we have only just got underway.”
“The production crew is using Pippbrook House, the site of the town’s former library, for office space, costumes, make-up and actors’ dressing rooms.”
“There are plans to use other buildings in the town, including a vacant shop near Sainsbury’s which will be turned into a video store. The “Mayday” sequence of the show will be filmed on Cotmandene.”
The filming will continue until July 18, as previously suggested. So you have plenty of time to pluck up courage to take a peek if you live in the area. Some people who live in Dorking have already told us that they have seen filming and may be taking some photos from a distance soon, so they will be posted on the site as and when they are available. If anyone does visit, and manages to take some photographs, we would be really grateful if would share them with Peter’s others fans via this site. Just use the contact form to let us know and we will return your message as soon as we can, and give you an email address where you can send us the photos.
It’s going to be a busy year for Peter Firth fans: two events (one in USA and one in UK) in May, filming in Summer, then viewing World Without End and now also Mayday in Autumn. Great news 🙂
